Introduction to Beekeeping
for Young People

Usually takes place the week before school starts

9:00 am - 12:00 pm 

at the Reynolds Nature Center

5665 Reynolds Road, Morrow, GA 30260

​

Open to all children aged 9-12.  

A guardian must accompany their child.

Small groups must have 1 adult for every 5 children.

​

Tara Beekeeping association will require all parents to sign release for their children.

​

Participants are required to wear light-colored, long-sleeved shirts, long pants, socks, and closed-toe shoes.

 

Tara Beekeeping will provide veils for the children.

​

Learn about:

• Basic aspects of Honeybees and why we need them.

• Brief function of the inner workings of the honeybee hive.

• What products we get from the bees.

• Tools that beekeepers use 

    

You'll also get to see live Honeybees in their beehives and how beekeepers use Smokers
